Danny Sullivan’s Search Engine Land (SEL) unveiled their new design today including a blogroll the size of Manhattan. I’m sure Danny has as many friends and connections in the search engine sphere as anyone else so I guess his blogroll is bound to be massive, but damn that’s big! How big is Danny’s blogroll???? It’s soooo big that….(insert your own joke here)… I had to do a copy/paste in a spreadsheet to get an quick and accurate count, 98.

So you may ask was anybody left off of the blogroll that you think should have been included? I don’t see Lee Odden’s Online Marketing Blog which I think should be there. You also may ask if Search Engine Watch was included. Yes it is, twice, both the blog and forum. If you think of any other omissions or surprising inclusions let’s hear them.

If this was the official launch it came with little fanfare and no official announcement/post at this point. The new Search Engine Land web site has a very pleasing and professional design but it’s currently lacking any real features or resources other than blogging the industry news (along with the blogroll). But to be fair, search engine news IS the primary focus of SEL and they are cranking out the news at a blistering pace already. I expect SEL will build it’s resources as they go along. I wonder if a forum will be included. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

For now, working your way through the blogroll and visiting each site will probably take you long enough that by when you return, another feature will be added to the site.
